Who Will You Serve
Sometimes we get caught up in what man thinks about us. It may be a family member, friend or anyone we prioritize as being a person worthy or someone we love. At any rate, it's not the thing that will give us, hope, love, peace or joy. It's what I call a silent noise. A source of distraction that hinders the sound of God's voice in our ears. When what we should be doing is seeking his face and trying to win this race; because surly he's the one who will keep us in place and free our spirit to do what he has called us do. Therefore let us beware of who we serve or choose.
It may not seem like it's anything, but when we strive and struggle to please a Friend, Spouse, Mother, Father, Sister or Brother. We step outside the realms of respect and honour into the realm of worship and service. The Word says we shall worship the Lord, him alone and no other.
Let us be free from the spiritual mind set of old Egypt and serve the God of Abraham, Issac and Israel. Through his son Jesus Christ. Let us be true to him, let us be real and live! Let us look to serve our God and not people, places or things of this world. In him we find confidence, in him we have peace, in him we have all we will ever need!
Therefore be-ware of the thoughts within your own heart. Do they conform and line up with the Word of God? If not, we can go to him in humility, confessing the issue along with our sin and ask him to cleanse us of the impurities we may have within. God is a loving God and he examines the heart. He wants us to live in him and be born again. There's no greater love, no better peace, no kind of joy or anything more, you will find in this world. So come to him, in reality and allow him to lead you into to all the best of you can truly be.
For do I now seek the favor of men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ (Galatians 1: 10)
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me (Exodus 20:5);
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God (Isaiah 44:6).
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10).
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Joshua 24: 15).
